POSITIVE Virtual World
The POSITIVE virtual world is being developed with the aim of helping children and adolescents to identify their academic stress and know how to regulate it, through different strategies.
POSITIVE Virtual World have a scenario dedicated to explaining our World (tutorial) and 7 game scenarios, namely:

Scenario 0 – Learn the POSITIVE 3DVW Environment
Scenario 0 is the tutorial of the POSITIVE Virtual World. Here you will learn the basics of navigation and communication within the game. The tutorial consists of 7 steps, and each one of them is represented by a separate banner. Click on each banner to get instructions, starting from 1 and moving to the next. Read the instructions carefully while observing the images that are displayed. |
Scenario 1 – Planning the time organization
This game scenario is a escape room in which students can learn more about how to plan their study’ time. In this sense, scenario 1 has educational material with tips about:
- Time management;
- Study environment;
- Note-taking;
- Study techniques.
Scenario 2 – Obtaining a bad grade The main objective of this game scenario is helping students to regulate their emotions when they have a bad grade. Also, it presents strategies to communicate their grades to parents in an assertive way. In this sense, this game scenario has educational material, regarding: · Clear communication; · Tips to calm down (Relaxation exercises, visualization and meditation) |
Scenario 3 – Coping with peer judgment (bullying and discrimination)
This game scenario aims to promote students’ knowledge about 5 strategies to deal interpersonal conflicts. So, students have the opportunity to watch a video, play a mini-game, and practice their learnings.
Also, this game scenario has educational material about strategies to deal with conflicts.
Scenario 4 – Oral presentations
The main goal of this scenario is to help students to deal with oral presentations. For that, this game scenario has strategies of self-management, examples of positive thoughts and tricks that we can use during these moments.

Scenario 5 – Dealing with family’s expectations
Sometimes, students may feel overwhelmed because of their family’s expectations about their studies. To promote students’ ability to communicate clearly with their families, this game scenarios includes educational material about:
- Empathy;
- Positive relationships within family.
Scenario 6 – Talking about future expectations
Thinking about the future can be stressful for our students. They need to think about which path to follow, which courses they like in higher education, and balance all of this with their grades and interests.
To help them dealing with this we’ve created a scenario with educational material about how music and arts can help us dealing with stress.
Scenario 7 – Studying for tests
Some students are unable to study for tests and assessments due to the stress and anxiety they feel. In this sense, we built a scenario with educational material on emotional regulation techniques
